POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sales Audit Manager role at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) is responsible for daily leadership and oversight of the Sales Audit department including detail and accounting reconciliation. This role ensures that all sales data is properly polled and recorded in Company ledgers, including data from all retail store deposit activity accounts (cash, credit cards and gift cards). The Sales Audit Manager role works closely and communicates effectively with leaders and associates in the corporate and retail cash office teams, and develops and maintains policies and procedures that support all sales audit processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reconcile point of sale (POS) transactions and conduct in depth reviews of complex POS anomalies, such as variances.
• Manage the chargeback process, including the investigation and resolution of all credit card chargeback issues as well as requests for information from various credit card providers.
• Respond to questions and interact with General Accounting, Finance and Store Operations leadership. Provide superior customer service in the response/resolution of queries.
• Develop and lead initiatives to improve and modernize sales audit processes. Provide monthly dashboard reporting of statistics, and identify potential areas for fraud.
• Initiate and conduct meetings with the Loss Prevention team where appropriate.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all POS matters and sales processing procedures.
• Manage associate performance, write performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback for Sales Audit team members. As needed, delegate work and follow up with team members to confirm timely completion of tasks.
• Assist with hiring new team members, training new team members and acting as a mentor to coach and develop new teammates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent and related work experience is required.
• 6 or more years of professional experience in sales audit or internal audit is required.
• Two or more years of supervisory experience is required.
• Experience with auditing software and web-based chargeback applications is required.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platform (i.e. Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
